Our Schools

The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is an inclusive Catholic learning community committed to faith formation and academic excellence. Guided by Gospel values and our mission to inspire every student to reach their full potential through faith and education, DCDSB serves approximately 24,000 students across Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, and the townships of Uxbridge, Scugog, and Brock, in addition to thousands of adult and continuing education learners.

The Durham Catholic District School Board currently has:

  • 38 elementary schools;
  • 7 secondary schools;
  • 3 adult and continuing education centres.
  • 23,694 elementary and secondary students (fluctuates day-to-day):
    • 16,411 elementary students;
    • 7,283 secondary/alternative education students.

Space is made available to the community when it is not needed by the school. All new requests are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested in booking a school space, email Community Use of Schools or call 905-576-6150 ext. 22214.

Our elementary schools provide Kindergarten programs for children 4 to 5 years of age, as well as programs for students in Grades 1 to 8. The curriculum is developed by the Ministry of Education and is available by grade or subject.

We welcome students of all faiths in our secondary schools. Our secondary schools offer programs for Grades 9 to 12. To receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, students are required to complete at least 30 credits in secondary school, 18 of which are compulsory courses.

Empowering You to Succeed!

Our Continuing and Adult Education program provides a variety of credit and non-credit courses for students of all ages - from elementary and secondary students to adults.

Throughout the year we hold registration for Kindergarten and French Immersion, but you are invited to register your child for school at any time using our online registration process.
