Travel the World and Earn a Credit

Posted On Thursday October 17, 2019

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 students and parents gathered at All Saints Catholic Secondary School to learn about the Travel for Credit Courses being offered by the Durham Catholic District School Board. This experiential learning program enables students to earn a high school credit, while travelling to Europe, South America or North America.

Students and parents had an opportunity to learn about the three trips being offered during summer 2020:

  • Students can earn an English credit (ENG3U1 or ENG4U1), while travelling to England and Scotland. This trip will give students an opportunity to see the sights that inspired famous authors and literary history.

  • Another option is for students to earn an Environmental Science credit, while travelling to Costa Rica. During this trip students will explore the rainforest, waterfalls, visit Earth University, a coffee plantation, visit a local school and much more.

  • The third trip being offered to students is to Ottawa, Montreal and New York to earn a Civics and Careers credit. On this trip, students will visit the War Museum, Parliament Building and Canadian Supreme Court, then travel to Montreal to explore career options at McGill University and a Hydro Electrical plant before going to New York City to tour Wall Street, Statue of Liberty, and 911 Museum.

To learn more about the Travel for Credit Courses, we invite you to attend the next parent and student information session being offered on October 23 at 7:00 p.m., at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School. Space is limited, please register here.
