Archbishop Denis O'Connor Catholic High School: Temple Tours - Asian and South Asian Heritage Month

Grade 11 students from Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School spent the day visiting various places of worship (Three different Faith groups in Durham Region).  This retreat is an extension of the grade 11 world religion curriculum.  These visits allow our students to see first-hand some of the things they have learned in class and provides them with a deeper understanding of the faith traditions of their neighbours.

The hope for the day is twofold.  First, we would like our students to be able to ‘retreat’ from some of the stress of regular school.  Secondly, we would like our students to be able to reflect and appreciate the diversity and similarities that can be found in the faith traditions of the world reflected here in Durham Region.
