DCDSB's Special Education Advisory Committee Seeks Community Representative

The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) of the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is seeking a community representative to join the team.

SEAC was established in accordance with the Education Act to make recommendations to the Board with respect to matters affecting the establishment and development of programs and services for students with exceptional needs.

A regulatory committee of the Board, SEAC is comprised of board trustees and representatives of local associations that further the interests and well-being of groups of exceptional children and adults. The committee works diligently to support all aspects of the board’s Special Education services, including an annual review of the Special Education Plan and participation in the annual budget process as it relates to special education. Meetings are scheduled on the first Tuesday of the first full week of each month at 7:30 p.m.

The Community Representative is a voting member of SEAC, representing the voice of the larger Durham Catholic community. The successful candidate is not required to be a parent in the Durham Catholic school system or a member of any of the community agencies represented on SEAC.
