DCDSB announces ratification of local collective agreements

At a Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, the Durham Catholic District School Board announced the ratification of local collective agreements with the following associations:

  • Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Representing DCDSB’s Designated Early Childhood Educators
  • Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) Durham Elementary Unit
  • Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) Durham Secondary Unit

The local agreements for each of these associations will expire on August 31, 2022.

Janice Oldman, Chair of the Durham Catholic District School Board congratulated the bargaining committees on negotiating local agreements that address issues of mutual interest.

Chair Oldman said: “I am pleased that we have achieved collective agreements that reflect our core values and the priorities outlined in the board’s Discovery 2023: Renewing the Vision strategic plan. Thank you to everyone involved in the process.”

Tracy Barill, Director of Education, said: “I am grateful to all representatives of the various bargaining parties for reaching renewed local agreements which align with the Durham Catholic District School Board’s commitment to Excellence, Equity and Engagement, as we continue to offer quality Catholic education for our students.”
