Durham Catholic District School Board celebrates 5th Annual TEDx event with compelling speakers

Posted On Friday May 12, 2017

The Durham Catholic District School Board invites members of the media to attend its 5th annual TEDxStMaryCSSchool conference. Organized by St. Mary Catholic Secondary School volunteers, the theme for this year’s event is: Equilibrium.

Date: Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Time: 9:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Place: Embassy Church, 416 Taunton Road W., Oshawa

In the spirit of TED’s “ideas worth spreading,” the event will bring together approximately 1,000 secondary student leaders from across DCDSB to share a TED-like experience. A series of dynamic speakers will be featured to empower young minds and encourage students to move forward as self-directed, responsible lifelong learners.

Funded through the Board’s Student Success and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs, TEDx is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences that are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.
