Durham Catholic District School Board Seeks New Trustee for the City of Oshawa

The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is accepting applications from Catholic residents of Durham Region for appointment to the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will fill the position previously held by Paul Pulla, whose resignation was accepted by the Board of Trustees on March 25, 2019.

His deep commitment to our Catholic faith and his vast experience and understanding of our school system is appreciated. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we wish Mr. Pulla the very best.” 

The Board of Trustees has approved a resolution to fill the vacancy by appointment, pursuant to Section 221(1)(a) of the Education Act, and in accordance with the appointment process outlined in the Board’s By-law. 

Interested and qualified members of the Durham Catholic community are invited to submit their resumes to the office of the Director of Education by Monday, April 29, 2019. To qualify, a candidate must verify that he/she is:  

  • a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age;
  • resides within DCDSB’s boundaries;
  • a baptized Roman Catholic, who is shown as an English-language Roman Catholic school board supporter on the municipal assessment list;
  • not an employee of the Durham Catholic District School Board or any other district school board or school authority in Ontario.

Qualified candidates will be contacted after April 29 for an interview by the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will be sworn in at the June 10, 2019 Board Meeting.
