The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is accepting applications from Catholic residents of Durham Region for appointment to the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will fill the position previously held by Kathleen LeFort, whose resignation was accepted by the Board of Trustees on August 17, 2020.  

The Board of Trustees has approved a resolution to fill the vacancy by appointment, pursuant to Section 221(1)(a) of the Education Act, and in accordance with the appointment process outlined in the Board’s By-law.  

Interested and qualified members of the Durham Catholic community are invited to submit their resumes to the office of the Director of Education by Monday, September 21, 2020. To qualify, a candidate must verify that he/she is:  

• a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age;
• resides within DCDSB’s boundaries;
• a baptized Roman Catholic, who is shown as an English-language Roman Catholic school board supporter on the municipal assessment list;
• not an employee of the Durham Catholic District School Board or any other district school board or school authority in Ontario.

The successful candidate will be sworn in at the October 26, 2020 Board Meeting.  

Interested candidates can submit an application package to the Director of Education/Secretary-Treasurer’s Office. The package must include the following:

• rationale for interest in the position as well as interest in the Durham Catholic District School Board and Catholic Education;
• cover letter and resume outlining relevant personal and professional experience
