DCDSB Special Education Review

Posted On Thursday October 06, 2022

The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) will be conducting a Special Education Review with broad input from students, staff, families and partners. In alignment with DCDSB’s commitment to Equity, we have partnered with the Abilities Centre to facilitate the LEAD (Leading Equitable and Accessible Delivery) Process, where we will be engaged in a comprehensive self-assessment to develop an improvement plan to work towards transformational change.

One of the key outcomes is to build capacity in special education knowledge, and consistency in the implementation of effective programs and/or services for students with special education needs.

A committee has been established with representation from various employee groups to work through the LEAD Process. Throughout this process, there will be opportunities for all students, staff, families, and other partners to provide input and feedback.

We invite parents, guardians, and caregivers to provide input and feedback on the DCDSB’s delivery of special education programming and supports for students through a brief survey.
