Seeking Student Representatives for the French as a Second Language Advisory Committee

Posted On Tuesday January 05, 2021

The French as a Second Language (FSL) Advisory Committee is a group comprised of Durham Catholic District School Board administrators, educators and system leaders. The FSL Advisory Committee meets to discuss French language programs and determine best practices to effectively support these programs in our schools.

The FSL Advisory Committee is looking for Durham Catholic secondary students in Grades 9-12 that are currently studying French to take part in these conversations. The students will join the FSL Advisory Committee in learning about FSL programs and will support conversations and initiatives based on the goals for FSL education in the Durham Catholic District School Board.  Students representatives will also be involved in providing input for the Ministry of Education Three Year FSL Action Plan for 2020-2023.

The FSL Advisory Committee will meet virtually over the remainder of the school year with meetings planned after school hours.

If you are interested, please submit a letter expressing how you might contribute to the FSL Advisory Committee and help to support its mandate of improving FSL programs in the Durham Catholic District School Board. The letter must be included as an attachment and include your name, grade, FSL program (Core French or French Immersion) and the secondary school you attend.

Please forward your letter via email no later than January 11th, 2021 to:
