St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is putting their STEM Skills to the Test!

Posted On Tuesday December 04, 2018

Over the past few weeks, students at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School are putting their minds to STEM challenges.  The Grade 5 students were very adept at the Paper Chain challenge and the Grade 8 students  proved that they can efficiently apply their Math and Science skills to building a free-standing spaghetti tower – with very few materials and a time constraint.

We encourage all of our students to seek opportunities to build, create and design structures as often as possible as experiential learning and challenging tasks will help them with their thinking, logic and reasoning skills.  21st century learning requires us to be innovative and creative.  STEM challenges help us to build those skills for now and the future!
