Durham Catholic District School Board Announces the Resignation of Superintendent of Business and Chief Financial Officer

At the Regular Board Meeting on June 21, 2021, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) announced the resignation of Ryan Putnam, Superintendent of Business and Chief Financial Officer.

During his twenty years of service with the Board, Mr. Putnam has been instrumental in ensuring the Board’s financial stability, while prioritizing the needs of students and schools through the alignment of resources to the strategic plan. Mr. Putnam joined the Board as Comptroller of Finance in 2000 and was promoted to Superintendent of Business and Chief Financial Officer in 2007.

“It has been an honour and privilege to serve with Mr. Putnam. His vast knowledge, experience and commitment to Catholic education are greatly appreciated. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we wish Mr. Putnam all the best in his new endeavour,” said Morgan Ste. Marie, Chair of the Board.   

“Ryan is a faith-filled person whose contributions have made a positive and lasting impact on student achievement and well-being in Durham Catholic,” said Tracy Barill, Director of Education. “His guidance, leadership and financial acumen have always ensured that our Board was well positioned to embrace opportunities and meet any challenges that came our way.”

“I am very proud of all that we have accomplished together during my time at the Durham Catholic District School Board,” said Ryan Putnam, Superintendent of Business and Chief Financial Officer. “As I table my twentieth and final budget, I can assure you that the Board’s multi-year vision is financially sustainable, responsive and responsible.”

Mr. Putnam will be joining the Toronto Catholic District School Board as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on August 9, 2021.
