Our schools promote responsibility, respect, civility and academic excellence in a safe learning and teaching environment. A positive school climate exists when all members of the school community feel safe, comfortable and accepted.
All students, parents/guardians, teachers, staff, trustees, volunteers, visitors, parish and community members have the right to be safe and to feel safe in their school. With this right comes the responsibility to contribute to a positive school climate.
We are focused on prevention, early intervention and progress discipline as the keys to maintaining a positive environment where students can learn and educators can teach.
Dear Parents/Guardians:
In keeping with our goals to enhance student achievement and well-being, we are currently collecting input from our staff, students and parents/guardians about the attitudes and practices associated with our school climate. The information is being collected through an anonymous electronic survey. During the week of November 16 – 20, 2020, Durham Catholic District School Board will be highlighting Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week. As a follow up activity, students in Grades 4 to 12 will be provided class time during the follow week (November 23 -27) to complete the online survey at school.
We want to invite you to complete a brief online survey to help us determine how you, as parents, think we are doing as a school community. Please take a minute to go to the Board website at www.dcdsb.ca or our school website and click on the banner entitled “School Climate Survey for Parents”. The survey will be available until December 7, 2020. All survey answers will be anonymous. The responses from the surveys will be used to help us evaluate both our Board and school programming related to school climate as well as the impact of our bullying prevention and intervention strategies. You can also access the survey directly by going to:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SchoolClimateParentSurvey2020
We want to make sure that we receive feedback from as many Parents/Guardians as possible, so please complete the survey even if you are not experiencing any issues related to school climate or bullying. Positive feedback helps us to know what we are doing well so that we can build upon those strengths. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are experiencing any difficulties related to bullying/harassment in our school. We are here to help!
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the short survey. Your feedback will help us to move forward on our journey of Learning and Living in Faith together.
