Uniforms

The official dress code of Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School is a result of discussion with faculty, students, parent council and administration. Our school uniform is compulsory.  All students are to wear the uniform during the school day. The school colours are green, yellow, black and grey. All Dress Code infractions will be addressed with discretion and respect.

Students shall wear the uniform properly. The uniform shall be kept clean and in good repair and be worn neatly.

All uniforms must be purchased from McCarthy’s, and worn without any substitutions or additions. The ONLY SWEATER permitted is the DO’C Green sweater with the school crest as purchased from McCarthy's.

Tops

Golf Shirt:

NEW FOR SEPT 2025:

  • Black embroidered golf shirt, long/short sleeve, available in both pique or
    performance styles                                                                      
  • Green embroidered pique golf shirt, long/short sleeve

ACCEPTED UNTIL JUNE 2028:

  • White embroidered long/short sleeve golf shirt

School Sweater:

  • Green V-Neck embroidered pullover
  • Green Full Zip embroidered sweat top                                            

NEW FOR SEPT 2025:

  • ¼ Zip Green polo and embroidered sweat top (crested or new DOC logo)
  • Green Kangaroo appliqué

Sweaters:

  • White or  Black Golf Shirt – With DO’C School Crest
  • Plain White Undershirt
  • Green Sweater or Vest  with School Crest worn with a DO’C Golf Shirt underneath – No EXCEPTION
    • ¼ Zip sweat top or V-Neck embroidered pullover MUST be worn with a plain white or black crew neck t-shirt underneath OR an embroidered golf shirt
    • Full Zip sweat top MUST be worn with an embroidered golf shirt underneath
    • If a student removes their sweater throughout the day, they are required to wear an embroidered golf shirt

Bottoms

Kilt:

ACCEPTED UNTIL JUNE 2028

School kilts MUST be worn with one of the following underneath:

  • Shorts (solid green or black) paired with either ankle socks (plain black or white) or knee socks (solid green or black)
  • Footless leggings (solid green or black) paired with ankle socks (plain black or white)
  • Footed tights (solid green or black)
  • NOT PERMITTED: Joggers, track pants, patterned tights or patterned knee socks

Pants:

  • Grey Flat Front Embroidered Dress Pants (no substitutions)
  • Grey Embroidered Athleisure Pants
  • Pants MUST be worn at the waist, with solid white, grey or black socks

Shoes

Solid black or white ONLY (shoe colour and logo MUST be the same color)

  • Black shoes may have white soles
  • Shoelaces MUST match shoe colour
  • NOT PERMITTED: Boots, UGGs, Blundstones, Birkenstocks, moccasins, sandals, slippers, Crocs or open-back shoes of any kind

Headwear

  • Solid black, green or gold headbands 4 inches or less, are permitted.
  • Scarves worn daily for religious purposes, MUST be one solid colour (green, black or gold)
  • NOT PERMITTED: Hats, bonnets, bandanas, large headbands, patterned scarves, and all other head gear

Summer Uniform: May 1 to October 31

Standard Uniform Policy remains in place, however BLACK McCarthy Shorts may be worn. Shorts must be worn with socks; white grey or black and black or white running shoes. Absolutely no sandals, flip flops, open back shoes or open toe shoes of any kind.

Non-Uniform Days are voluntary. The cost to participate is $20.00 for the year and is paid via School Cash Online or Interact Debit on the first Non-Uniform Day).

As non-uniform days are not mandatory, all students CHOOSING TO PARTICIPATE are required to pay the indicated participation fee for the designated day.   If you choose not to participate, you are expected to be in full uniform.

The following clothing & footwear are NOT PERMITTED and, if worn, the student will be asked to change into their uniform or possibly be sent home:

  • Revealing shorts, dresses, skirts
  • Low-rise / sagging pants – ALL pants MUST be worn around the waistline
  • Tank tops – shoulders MUST be covered
  • Crop top style / tube top / bare midriff shirt
  • Clothing with inappropriate messages, images, or profanity
  • Sandals, slippers, Crocs or open-back shoes of any kind
