Catholic School Council
The Catholic School Council is an advisory group made up of parents and staff. The council is a vital part of our school community. The purpose of a Catholic School Council, through the active participation of parents, is to improve student achievement and to enhance the accountability of the education process to parents.
Our Catholic School Council provides advice and support to the principal, and where appropriate, to senior administrative staff and the Board of Trustees on education matters. The advice should reflect the views of the school community.
Meeting Dates
All parents are welcome to attend the Catholic School Council meetings and bring agenda items forward for discussion. Please contact the school for upcoming meeting agendas and previous meeting minutes.
Catholic School Council Members
Our Catholic School Council is comprised of parents/guardians, the Principal, and other members in accordance with the Education Act, applicable regulations, board administrative procedures, and the Council's bylaws. Council positions may include:
- Principal (or designate)
- Chair
- Vice-Chair
- Secretary
- Parent/Guardian Representatives
- Parish Representative
- Teaching Staff Representative
- Non-Teaching Staff Representative
- Community Representative(s) (where applicable in the bylaws)
- Student Representative(s) (mandatory in secondary schools, at the discretion of the principal in elementary schools)
- Other positions as determined by the Council in accordance with its bylaws and applicable legislation
