Student Indigenous Education Circle Mural Celebration

Students, staff, families, Indigenous Education Circle members, and community members joined together on June 28, 2023, to celebrate the new mural created by Indigenous youth within DCDSB. The student-designed mural, located at the entrance to the Catholic Education Centre, is the culmination of an 18-month process of learning facilitated through the Indigenous Education Department whereby Indigenous students worked with local artists and collectively discerned the symbols and images that they wished to incorporate into the final product. The completed art installation was designed by now graduated student, Taleeya W., who brought together the ideas and inspiration of all students involved to create this beautiful tribute to Indigenous people and our DCDSB commitment to Walk the Path Together.
