In Grades 7 and 8, students refine their kinesthetic awareness and use all of the elements of dance (body, space, time, energy, relationship) to create dance works that express a point of view about a variety of issues, concepts, and themes.

Students will have the opportunity to select and form choreography appropriate to certain themes and communicate meaningful messages while showcasing their talent in public performances.

There will be a strong concentration on growing their technical and compositional skills, generating movement through structured and unstructured improvisation, developing safe and healthy practices in the dance environment, and showcasing their learning in public performance.

In the instrumental music program, students will join together to form musical ensembles exploring many different genres of music. In this program, students have the option of learning guitar, ukulele, flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone, trombone, baritone horn, French horn, tuba, bass guitar, and/or drum kit/percussion. Acoustic guitar will also be a focus as students' progress through the program. For those auditioning on an instrument, they are free to audition on ANY instrument they wish. Prior experience on a musical instrument is not mandatory in order to apply as we provide a musical education for all levels, beginner to experienced. Students within this program will collaborate with the dance, vocal, drama, visual art and media art students as they form the Pit Orchestra for each live musical production at All Saints, as well as produce music videos, live performances and other collaborative artistic endeavors. Students will be given many opportunities to perform in our professional theatre as well. Future Career pathways will also be explored. With our connection to industry professionals as well as our modern programming, Instrumental Music students may begin paving their way to post-secondary music programs such as: Audio Engineer, Music Producer, Elementary and High School Music Teacher, Songwriting and Performance, Music Therapy, Studio Musician, Live Sound Engineer, Music Arranger, Composer for TV, Film and advertisement and so much more. Recently, our Instrumental Music students were fortunate to talk with Professor Brian O'Kane, the head if the brass department at Humber College's Bachelor of Music Program, representatives from the MetalWorks recording studio as well as Peter Seminov, violinist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra where students explored audition preparation, post-secondary pathways, and career options in the Canadian music scene. Students from the Regional Arts & Media Program's Instrumental Music and Performing Arts streams have collaborated to enter the CBC Music Class Challenge. All Saints music students have place 3rd (2019), 1st (2020), and 2nd (2021) in this Nation-wide music competition. The Catholic Register, a national publication, also wrote an article on the 2020 CBC Music Class Challenge win and focused on the Regional Arts & Media Program's Instrumental Music program.

Media Arts is only open to students auditioning for entrance in Grade 9.

Students will explore new media, emerging and relevant new technologies, and a variety of traditional media art forms. Students will explore the fields of photography, video, animation and graphic design. They will be introduced to Creative Cloud and learn techniques in Lightroom, Photoshop and Illustrator.

A highlight for students is learning how to digitally paint and begin their Independent Media Art Projects. Future pathways for Media Arts students often include post-secondary programs in Film, Video, Animation, Photography and Creative Industries.
