Creating Cultural Connections End-Of-Year Excursion

The Creating Cultural Connections end-of-year excursion was a fun and engaging experience that combined art, cultural learning, and community building. Students explored abstract art inspired by Canadian artists, including the Painters Eleven, and created their own artwork through hands-on activities.

Students also enjoyed traditional outdoor Canadian games, including the potato sack race, three-legged race, and egg-and-spoon race that promoted teamwork, cooperation, and plenty of laughter while giving students the opportunity to connect and build friendships in a supportive environment.

In the afternoon, students participated in the AnimalSmart™ program by the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, where they learned about compassion, empathy, and responsible animal care. The session, Animals in Our Community, helped students develop a deeper understanding of how to care for animals safely and responsibly, and the important role animals play in our lives.

Overall, the day provided meaningful opportunities for creativity, cultural connection, and shared experiences as students celebrated the end of year Creating Cultural Connections together.
