DCDSB Black History Month Liturgy

On February 3, 2026, DCDSB staff gathered for a beautiful Black History Month liturgy at the Pope Francis Centre. Led by Father Colman Mruma, the celebration invited us to reflect on the 30th anniversary of Black History Month in Canada and the inspiring legacy of Black icons who have shaped our nation.
Fr. Colman’s homily reminded us that we are all made in God’s image, "fearfully and wonderfully made", and called to honour the dignity, brilliance, and gifts within every person.
A heartfelt thank‑you to the Black Heritage and Excellence Celebration Committee for organizing this meaningful and faith‑filled event. Thank you also to Fr. Colman for his continued partnership and spiritual guidance.
