DCDSB Celebrates the 2026 Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award Recipients

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) recognized eight graduates at the Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation Gala with the Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award. One alumnus from each Durham Catholic secondary school was honoured for their outstanding achievements and contributions.

The Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award recognizes former DCDSB students who have achieved significant success in their chosen pathways. Through their commitment to personal excellence, award recipients have made a positive contribution to their communities and exemplify the image of the Catholic learner as outlined in the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations.

The 2026 DCDSB Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award recipients are:  

  • Dr. Kelly Mollon, All Saints Catholic Secondary School
  • Edmar Selda, Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School
  • Bernadette Santiago, Father Leo. J. Austin Catholic Secondary School
  • Dr. Kacey Prentice, Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School
  • Ramón K. Pérez, Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School
  • Duan Asemota, Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School
  • Joseph DeBenedictis, St. Mary Catholic Secondary School
