DCDSB Student Senate Hosts 2025 Student Voices Forum
On Thursday, March 24, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) Student Senate hosted the 2025 Student Voices Forum at the Pope Francis Centre, welcoming students from Grades 9–11 from across the board for a day focused on student leadership, collaboration, and engagement. The forum provided participants with valuable insight into how student governing structures operate and the important role Student Senate plays in shaping their educational experience.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to learn about the structure and responsibilities of Student Senate, including its various subcommittees such as Communications, Sustainability, and Equity and Inclusivity. These topics were explored through interactive workshops designed to encourage participation and discussion. Students also heard from Student Trustees, Student Senators, and members of Student Council through informative and engaging presentations, gaining a deeper understanding of how student voice contributes to school communities.
In addition to learning opportunities, the forum provided time for networking, allowing students to connect with peers and student leaders from across the DCDSB.
