Durham Catholic District School Board Announces 2025-2026 Chair and Vice-Chair

The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is pleased to announce the results of the election for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees, held during the Annual Board Meeting on November 24, 2025.

Morgan Ste. Marie, Trustee for the City of Oshawa, has been elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the 2025-2026 school year. Chair Ste. Marie was first elected to the DCDSB Board of Trustees in 2018 and previously served as Chair of the Board from 2021-2022. He brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to Catholic education, having served on various Board committees over the past seven years. Chair Ste. Marie is dedicated to student achievement, faith formation, and community engagement.

“I’ll do my part, and give what I can give, to help shine a light and celebrate the achievements of our community,” said Chair Ste. Marie. “We want families to see a blossoming system that is committed to the spiritual, academic and social needs of every student. As a parent of three wonderful girls, including two still in our system, I am grateful to know that we are committed to nurturing the God-given talents of each student and upholding the Gospel’s truth that guides and strengthens our faith.”

 

Marisa Hall, Trustee for the Town of Ajax, has been acclaimed as Vice-Chair of the Board. Vice-Chair Hall has been a DCDSB Trustee since 2022. She is committed to initiatives that support student success, equity and inclusion, family engagement and spiritual development.

 

“I am grateful for the opportunity and for the support of my fellow Trustees,” said the newly elected Vice-Chair Hall. “This year, we are celebrating peacemakers as our spiritual theme. May we always strive to be peacemakers by listening and collaborating, and by always leading with love and humility, which is what our students deserve.”
