DCDSB Summer Hours

During July and August, the Durham Catholic District School Board's Catholic Education Centre (650 Rossland Rd. W., Oshawa) is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Elementary school offices are closed for the summer and will re-open on Monday, August 24, 2026. To register an elementary student for school during July or August, please visit our website for details.
  • Secondary school offices remain open during the summer from Monday to Thursday.
  • For information on summer programs offered through Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre, please visit con-ed.ca. 

The first day of school for elementary and secondary students is Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Visit our website to view the 2026-2027 school year calendars.

Exploring the Trades Camp at DCDSB

The Exploring the Trades Camp introduced participants to a variety of skilled trades while strengthening trade-related math skills through experiential learning. Students explored careers in construction, carpentry, transportation and communication, with a strong focus on safety and the proper use of tools and equipment.

Last week, campers developed practical skills in measuring, cutting and using hand tools while exploring the world of welding. Students had the opportunity to learn both arc welding and Metal Insert Gas (MIG) welding, create personalized dog tags with engraved names, and even shape rebar into a cross.
