Inspiring Future Educators: BLOSM Visits OTU Faculty of Education

Last week, 20 students from the Black Leaders of St. Mary (BLOSM) group went to Ontario Tech University’s Faculty of Education to explore pathways in teaching and education.

The day was filled with inspiration: a campus tour, Q&A with staff, sitting in on a class, and even receiving t-shirts and bags from the university. What made it truly special was the incredible support from OTU, our senior leadership and partners, including OECTA representatives.

The message was consistent throughout the day - our students are valued and wanted as future educators at DCDSB!

A special thank you to St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, including Ms. Minardi and Mr. Di Vizio for their support in planning the event. We also want to extend our appreciation to Director Winn, Superintendent Stevenson, Mr. Akomolafe, Mr. Collicutt and Ms. Okolie for their presence and encouragement of our students.
