Jamaica National Lacrosse Teams Inspire Students at St. Patrick Catholic School

St. Patrick Catholic School was proud to welcome members of the Jamaica Men's and Women's National Lacrosse Teams during their visit to Oshawa for the 2026 Pan-American (PALA) Sixes Lacrosse Championship. The tournament represents a significant milestone in the international lacrosse community, serving as the first step on the road to qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

During their visit, student-athletes had the opportunity to meet and interact with national team players who are competing at the highest levels of the sport. Their presence provided a powerful example of dedication, perseverance, and national pride, while highlighting the growing global reach of lacrosse.

For many students, the visit was especially meaningful as they saw athletes who reflected the diversity of their own communities. As lacrosse continues to grow and become more inclusive, the representation of Black and Caribbean athletes on the international stage helps young people see that there is a place for them in the sport, regardless of their background. The visit reinforced the importance of diversity, representation, and belonging, while inspiring students to pursue their own goals with confidence and determination.

St. Patrick Catholic School extends its sincere thanks to the Jamaica Men's and Women's National Lacrosse Teams for sharing their time, experiences, and passion for the game with our school community. Their visit left a lasting impression on our students and staff and highlighted the power of sport to inspire, connect, and create opportunities for future generations.
