Junior and Intermediate Students Complete the DCDSB Phonics Diagnostic

Junior and intermediate students across DCDSB are completing the DCDSB Phonics Diagnostic, a tool used to help educators identify any foundational phonics skills that may still require support. While phonics instruction is often associated with the primary grades, some older students continue to benefit from targeted instruction in specific word-reading and spelling patterns. Identifying and addressing these gaps helps students become more accurate, automatic, and confident readers, leading to improved fluency, comprehension, and achievement across all subject areas.
