Ready for School Program for Pre-K Children

A free, play‑based Ready for School program will be offered in July for children born in 2022. The program supports school readiness through activities that promote social‑emotional development, speech and language growth, cognitive skills, and fine and gross motor development. One of the foundations of learning in kindergarten is built on play-based and inquiry-based learning.

Priority is given to children who have not participated in a previous school readiness program.

The following sessions are available:

  • Session One: July 6-9, 2026, and July 13-16, 2026 OR
  • Session Two: July 20-23, 2026, and July 27-30, 2026

Program Days: Monday - Thursday

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Location: Durham Community Health Centre, Oshawa South location (115 Grassmere Ave, Oshawa) 
Spaces are limited. Families will be contacted to confirm placement.
