Socks for Souls: Lenten Almsgiving in Action

As part of their Lenten journey, the Bosco Grade 8 Leadership Team, under the guidance of Mme. LePage, Mme. Clements and Mrs. Xavier, led the school community in a Socks for Souls collection to support people experiencing homelessness and others in need. This meaningful act of Lenten almsgiving invited students, staff, and families to live out the Gospel call to serve with compassion and generosity.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Bosco community, over 1,800 pairs of new socks were collected. These donations will help keep feet warm and dry and will make a real difference for many individuals and families in our community.
The collected socks were shared with and supported:
  • Families within our own school community
  • St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School
  • Monsignor Philip Coffey Catholic School
  • Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic School
  • Queen Elizabeth Public School
  • Village Union Public School
  • Catholic Family Services
This initiative is a powerful example of student leadership and faith in action. We thank the Bosco Leadership Team for their commitment to service and extend our sincere gratitude to the entire St. John Bosco Catholic School community for their generosity and kindness in supporting those most in need.
