Students Make Stone Soup at St. Theresa Catholic School

On Wednesday, February 11, St. Theresa Catholic School came together as a community to make Stone Soup for the whole school. In collaboration with We Grow Food, students learned about the Stone Soup fable and discovered what it means to work together as a community, while learning the importance of eating vegetables in our daily diets and growing fresh produce at home.

Students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 brought in one ingredient to add to the pot of soup. After students and volunteers from We Grow Food prepped and chopped the ingredients, a soup was made for all to serve and share as a school community.

A special thank you goes to the St. Theresa EcoClub and Ms. Shewchuk’s Grade 2/3 class for leading the initiative, and thank you to We Grow Food for their support and guidance.
