System-Wide Mass and Commissioning Celebrates New Permanent School Employees
The Durham Catholic District School Board recently gathered in faith and fellowship for the annual System-Wide Mass and Commissioning Celebration, a special tradition that welcomes and celebrates new permanent school-based employees as they begin this important chapter of service in Catholic education.
Held at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Whitby, the celebration brought together clergy, trustees, staff, and families, to reflect on the shared mission of Catholic education and to formally commission new employees into their roles within the Durham Catholic community.
We want to extend our sincere gratitude to St. John the Evangelist Parish for hosting this meaningful celebration, and to Father Francisco for presiding over the Mass and leading those gathered in prayer and reflection.
As new permanent staff were commissioned, they were invited to embrace their vocation, serving as witnesses to Christ's love and helping students grow in faith, learning, and well-being. Wishing all newly commissioned employees a warm welcome - thank you for answering the call to serve in Catholic education.
