Winter Warmth Project Brings Coats to Students in Need
The Durham Catholic District School Board is grateful to highlight the Winter Warmth Project, a heartwarming initiative that has been making a difference for over a decade. Organized through Pickering Town Centre, this project ensures that students in our schools have access to brand-new winter coats during the winter months.
Each year, funds are raised through generous staff donations and corporate contributions at the Pickering Town Centre. These funds are used to purchase new winter coats from retailers within the mall, ensuring quality and variety for the children who need them most.
The Pickering Town Centre typically donates around 15 coats annually, in various sizes and styles, to students identified by board staff as requiring assistance. Their generosity has provided warmth and comfort to many families over the years.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Pickering Town Centre team for their support of our students.
