Prevalent Medical Conditions
The Board believes in providing the necessary supports to allow students with prevalent medical conditions to fully participate in all aspects of the school day. The Board believes in the importance of empowering students with prevalent medical conditions to be confident and capable learners who can reach their full potential for self-management of their medical conditions, according to their plan of care.

Scent Sensitivities
Due to health concerns arising from an individual’s exposure to scented products, all members of the Board must work together to reduce the use of scented products in the workplace and learning environment. The chemicals used in scented products can make some people sick, especially those with fragrance sensitivities, asthma, allergies, and other medical conditions. The Scented Personal Products procedure was created to:
-
Increase the awareness within the DCDSB about the potential impact of chemical and fragrance sensitivities on the health, well-being, productivity and the lifestyle of those affected.
-
Ask for voluntary cooperation towards a scent safe environment.
-
Aid in responding to scent-related issues.
If you have a sensitivity to scents, please inform your supervisor immediately.
