A Year in Clay: Celebrating Ceramics Students at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School

This school year, the ceramics program at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School flourished with creativity and craftsmanship! A total of 118 students across four classes—two Grade 10 and two Grade 11—immersed themselves in the art of ceramics, shaping and sculpting their visions into reality.

Throughout the year, students created approximately 600 ceramic projects, showcasing their unique styles and dedication. To support their work, a staggering 45 boxes of 20 kg clay were used, and the kiln fired up 51 times, bringing each masterpiece to life.

For many students, the most exciting part was the chance to use the pottery wheel, mastering the delicate balance of speed and pressure to create beautifully formed pieces.

To celebrate their hard work, a ceramics display was presented in the main foyer on June 11, 2025, highlighting some of the most impressive pieces, offering a glimpse into the talent and effort poured into this semester’s projects.
