Cracking the Code: Nurturing Numeracy Skills with Joyful Learning Initiatives

Engaging young minds with numeracy activities has been one focus of the Transition Support Teachers team. Grade 7-8 students from across our board are learning to solve math problems with a smile.

At Father Fenelon Catholic School in Pickering, student teams were working on the Mysteries of the Stolen Reindeer and the Missing present while breaking Christmas codes and trying out the challenging Adsumudi math game.

Meanwhile at Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School, in Oshawa, the Math at Home Kit is being used to help students consolidate key numeracy skills while having fun! This is all part of an ongoing DCDSB initiative to help students strengthen their numeracy skills.
