DCDSB Numeracy Facilitators

During the 2023-2024 school year, Numeracy Intervention Resource Teachers were introduced to 12 priority schools in the Durham Catholic District School Board. Three resource teachers collaborated with classroom educators throughout the year, conducting regular school visits to collect and analyze assessment data, track student progress, co-plan and co-teach math lessons, and share best practices. They provided professional learning opportunities through staff meetings, Professional Activity (PA) days, and "lunch and learn" sessions, supporting the entire school community. Feedback from educators and administrators was overwhelmingly positive, with notable improvements observed in student attitudes toward math, attendance rates, and mathematics achievement across all schools.
