DCDSB Student Presents Art to Deputy Minister of Education and Governor General

Olivia W.is a Grade 12 student at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, who will be attending Queen's University next year with plans to pursue educational studies. Her piece, titled The REDress Project: Forest of Memories, calls attention to the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada. Through her work, she hopes to inspire change and reconciliation in order to create a world that is accepting of all. She is honoured to have had her piece gifted to the Deputy Minister of Education Nancy Naylor, and Governor General Mary Simon
