Durham Catholic Children's Foundation Gala (1)
Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
I am writing to you today to invite your participation in the 9th Annual Durham Catholic Children’s’ Foundation Gala on May 11, 2023, at the Ajax Convention Center.
The Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation (DCCF) was formed in 2014 with a goal of ensuring students can attend school with the basic daily necessities of life provided. In partnership with the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) and its communities, DCCF contributes to supporting the most vulnerable children and families in Durham Region, bringing hope, resources and supports to enable them to reach their full potential.
Through annual fundraising events and donor contributions, DCCF has raised over $300,000 for our Direct Family Assistance program. These funds went directly to students and families in need through the purchase of food, clothing, medical necessities, transportation passes, gift cards and much more. In addition to our Direct Assistance Program, DCCF also raised $40,000 for our Emergency Support Fund which helped aid families that were faced with significant unexpected challenges. Finally, DCCF raised roughly $26,000 for our Bursary Program that directly supported students in our school communities pursuing a post-secondary pathway. This financial support has been crucial for our students and families in the DCDSB over the years, and we hope to continue being an agent of change for years to come.
Tickets are now on sale for our 9th Annual Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation Gala, honouring Bishop Vincent Nguyen and our Distinguished Catholic Alumni. The keynote speaker is Aubrey Noronha, 2022 Durham Catholic Distinguished Alumni Award Winner. Guests who purchase tickets by April 14, 2023, will be entered into a draw to win a pair of Apple AirPods (3rd generation). All proceeds from the gala will go to the Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation which will directly support students in our Catholic school communities.
