Enhancing Math Learning in Grade 9 at Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School

Now that semester two is well underway in our secondary schools, DCDSB’s Transition Intervention Support Teachers have had a chance to reflect upon their first semester working in local high schools. At Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School they had great success in delivering and assessing the culminating tasks in Grade 9 Math classes. 

Students completed five thinking classroom questions over the span of the semester, and then worked to solve the questions while working in groups. At the end of the semester, each student wrote a final reflection about their individual thinking processes.
