Grade 9 and 10 Students Attend Skilled Trades Camp

During the week of May 5, Grade 9 and 10 students attended the Skilled Trades Camps at Durham College. Throughout the day, students participated in two different hands-on workshops led by faculty members, covering various college trade programs such as culinary arts, sheet metal work, carpentry, and automotive skills. DCDSB Skilled Trades Camps are funded through the School College Work Initiative (SCWI), a partnership of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. This event provides students the opportunity to be inspired and engaged through stimulating activities associated with college trades programs. It is intended to foster connection and help in building smoother transitions to post-secondary pathways.
