Professional Development Session with Dr. Angela McHolm

On Tuesday, September 9, Program Support Teachers and Student Services staff were invited to the Pope Francis Centre to participate in a professional development session with Dr. Angela McHolm, a psychologist with a speciality in Selective Mutism. Staff engaged in learning surrounding selective mutism, and Dr. McHolm shared a collaborative team approach and specific classroom suggestions for supporting students who are reluctant speakers. She will be providing additional training with targeted groups for the 2025-2026 school year. Thank you to Dr. Angela McHolm for visiting DCDSB staff and for sharing your knowledge. We hope this session will help enhance the learning experiences for students in our Catholic learning community.
