School Resumes on Monday, January 5!

Dear DCDSB Families, 

Happy New Year! 

We hope you had a blessed Christmas filled with peace, joy, and time spent with loved ones. We are looking forward to welcoming students and staff back to our schools on Monday, January 5, 2026. 

We wanted to share a few updates and reminders with you, ahead of school resuming next week. 

Report a Student Absence If your child is going to be absent, we ask that you notify the school using one of the following methods: 

DSTS – Family Portal and Inclement Weather Reminders 
Durham Student Transportation Services (DSTS) is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient transportation to and from schools for eligible students.  

Families are encouraged to create an account for the DSTS Family Portal, where they can subscribe to receive email alerts for their child(ren)'s bus route(s). Please note that parents and guardians will require their child(ren)'s Ontario Education Number (OEN) to subscribe. Please click here to view information on how to create an account. 

Occasionally, transportation is cancelled due to weather conditions. Depending on the location and type of weather occurrence, transportation can be cancelled for a specific zone. Visit the DSTS website to determine your child's weather zone. If you are signed up for the DSTS Family Portal, you will receive updates on your child’s bus route, including inclement weather cancellations or delays.

DCDSB 2026-2027 Registration Opens January 6 
Registration for the 2026-2027 school year opens next week on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. To register your child for school, please visit dcdsb.ca/register.

The 2025-2026 DCDSB calendar is available to view and/or download on our website.
