SHSM Hospitality and Tourism Students Spend the Day at Bistro '67

On April 29, SHSM Hospitality and Tourism students from Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School took part in a sector partner experience day at Bistro '67. The restaurant manager and staff provided students with an opportunity to participate in kitchen and server training, as well as share solutions to a menu pricing challenge. SHSM students were excited to learn "how the iPads work while working in a restaurant" as they practiced taking food orders. The highlight of the day was preparing and cooking hamburgers, fries, garden salads, and creating their own mocktails. Overall, students enjoyed the experience of learning more about the hospitality and tourism industry with a local community partner.

SHSM is a specialized high school program that allows students to earn their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and focus their learning on a specific economic sector at the same time.
