St. Mary Catholic Secondary School - Empower

On Wednesday, May 17, St. Mary’s Empower, a student group focused on intersectional feminism, hosted a conference for students titled superHERoes: How We Thrive, Not Just Survive in Male-Dominated Fields. 

The students welcomed community members to speak to the group about their challenges and successes working in male-dominated fields, including in medicine, business, and politics. Students also participated in small group activities and discussions on the topics covered.

Congratulations to Gr. 12 student leaders Hannah Wetzel and Alexandra Orr for hosting a fantastic event! Special thanks to staff members Clare Timperley, Mariana Bosetti, and Catia Minardi for their guidance.
