Students at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School celebrate Lunar New Year

Mrs. Sarmento's Grade 1 and 2 class and Mrs. Gabriel's Grade 4 and 5 class from St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School recently celebrated Lunar New Year with a mini art gallery showcase. The Grade 1 and 2 students drew and painted pictures to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, while students in Mrs. Gabriel's class researched the Chinese Lunar calendar, Chinese culture and the significance of the Year of the Rabbit.

In Chinese culture, the rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace and prosperity. View the video below showcasing the great work.
