Tree Planting at St. Christopher Catholic School

The St. Mary of the People Knights of Columbus Council #8611 organized a Tree Planting project at St. Christopher Catholic School on Saturday, May 30. A crew of Knights, students and their families, along with Principal van Hezewyk and Vice-Principal Belzile-Daley, picked up shovels and tools to plant five Autumn Blaze Maple Trees in the school yard, and refresh the painted lines in the playground for basketball, hopscotch and Four Square. With help from Mark and Ted Klumper and Central Drain Service who provided the excavator, this team of diggers, fence builders and painters accomplished the plan before noon on Saturday.

The school community was happy to see the 4m trees that will soon provide shade in the yard, a more natural looking environment and bright red leaves in the fall.

Thank you to all who provided their time, resources, and community spirit over the weekend. This project was funded by the Knights of Columbus, St. Christopher School, and anonymous donors, with in-kind contributions from Central Drain Service Inc.
