Durham Catholic District School Board Director of Education Announces Retirement At the Regular Board Meeting on February 26, 2024, Tracy Barill, Director of Education, announced her retirement after a 36-year career in Catholic education. Director Barill began her career with DCDSB in 1988 as an Educational Assistant.

Durham Catholic District School Board Presents Be You, Be Well: A Black Mental Health Day Event Monday, March 4, 2024, marks the fifth annual Black Mental Health Day, recognized by communities across Ontario. On Black Mental Health Day, we are called to recognize the ongoing impact on mental health that results from experiences of anti-Black racism and to raise awareness of the specific mental health needs of Black communities.

Lenten Message from the Chair of the Board and Director of Education This year Ash Wednesday, a holy day of prayer and fasting that is recognized by many Christian denominations, falls on February 14, 2024. On this day, members of the Catholic community gather for liturgical celebrations in which they receive ashes, marked on their forehead in the sign of the cross, as a call to repentance and as a reminder of our need for love and forgiveness.

DCDSB Professional Activity Day Rescheduled to Monday, April 8, 2024 The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) trustees have voted in favour of moving the Professional Activity (PA) Day previously scheduled for Friday, April 19, 2024, to Monday, April 8, 2024. The new PA Day of Monday, April 8, 2024, is in effect for elementary and secondary schools across the board.
