Autumn Harvest
Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
With its connection to the summer harvest, autumn is a season in which we often reflect on our many blessings. During the coming long weekend, families may have a tradition of gathering to share food and company and to give thanks.
As a Catholic school board, we are grateful for the strong foundations of learning, friendship, creativity, and growth that have been established during these first five weeks of the school year, while sharing our excitement and hopes for what is yet to come.
Our thanks is extended to staff, families, and community partners, whose commitments to Catholic education and ongoing collaboration are the cornerstone of our system which supports the faith formation and learning of all of our students.
This year’s spiritual theme, Speaking With the Heart, encourages us to communicate “according to God’s style, nurtured by closeness, compassion and tenderness.” It is our hope that by doing so, we will build communities where knowledge and perspectives can be shared while communicating from a place of truth, hope, kindness, and respect for all.
In keeping with our board’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation we are also encouraged to reflect on the true history of Indigenous Peoples who have inhabited Turtle Island for time immemorial. There are many informative resources available on the Indigenous Education page of our Board website that we encourage you to explore.
As we enter the fall, we especially celebrate our students who inspire us with their acts of kindness, service to others and hopes for the future. Their enthusiasm for learning and devotion to the teachings of Christ are a true inspiration!
In this season of gratitude, we are thankful for the gift of faith that unites, nurtures, and guides us on our spiritual journey. We pray for God's blessings upon each and every one of you and your families.
Yours in Faith,
Monique Forster Tracy Barill
Chair of the Board Director of Education
