Dear Parents and Guardians,

Today, Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced that March Break will be delayed for schools across Ontario until April, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Click here to view the announcement

Our March Break, which was originally scheduled for March 15-19, has been delayed for a month and will now take place from April 12-16. This means that classes will continue uninterrupted through all of March. The new break schedule applies to both in-person and virtual learners.

We recognize also that Friday, March 12 is currently designated on the calendar as a board holiday for students. We are reviewing this date in light of today’s announcement and will confirm our plan with families as soon as possible.

We understand that our students and staff, with the support of parents and families have been working hard this year to continue the learning under very unusual circumstances and that many have been looking forward to a scheduled break. While this delay may be disappointing, we appreciate the importance of following the recommendations of the Chief Medical Officer to control the spread of COVID-19 and protect the members of our community.

Staff members have been pleased to welcome students as they returned to the classroom this week for in-person learning and appreciate your cooperation in following the health and safety protocols that are in place to keep everyone safe.

Yours in Catholic Faith,

Tracy Barill
Director of Education
