Our Mission, Vision and Values

To be an inclusive Catholic learning community that inspires every student to achieve their full potential through faith and education. Read more...

Our Motto
Our motto, simply stated, Catholic Education: Learning and Living in Faith. Through these words, we are reminded that faith plays a significant role in our learning system and that it is integrated into everything we do.
Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations
Our students are shaped by the vision that life is a combination of body, mind and spirit. Catholic education fosters the search for knowledge as a lifelong spiritual and academic journey. The Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations highlight the values and attributes of our students will embody.
Our logo
Our logo is based on the tradition of Catholic, combining the cross, the heart and the anchor representing theological virtues of faith, hope and charity. The "S" represents Separate (Catholic) Schools; and the base is the Lamp of Learning - a symbol from the Greek word "Lampein" meaning "Torch" which represents a source of intellectual or spiritual light.
Direction of Catholic School Support
Registering your child in a Durham Catholic school is the strongest show of support for Catholic education a parent can make. Another way that Catholic parents and Catholics in the community, can support Catholic education in Durham Region is by ensuring that you direct your support to the English-Separate system with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
Publications and Reports
In the interest of open and transparent communication, we produce a number of publications annually.  To request any of these documents in an accessible format, please contact communications@dcdsb.ca.
