Dear Parents and Guardians,

Today I am writing to provide families with information on the last opportunity for families of elementary students to request a switch fromin-person to virtual learning or virtual to in-person learning this school year. We will attempt to approve all requests; however, requests will be dependent on staffing and available class space.

Requesting a Switch to Learning Models

If you want to switch your child from in-person to virtual learning or virtual school to in-person learning, please contact your current school principal by Thursday, February 18 at 12:00 noon and have your child’s name added to the waitlist.

It’s important to understand, that by requesting this transfer you are committing to remaining in your requested learning model for the remainder of the school year. No additional transfers will be possible this school year.

Any requests to switch learning models received after February 18 at 12:00 noon will be denied and new waitlists will not be created.

Our staff will review all requests to change learning models by March 1, 2021 and will notify families if their request can be accommodated.

I do not want to switch learning models

If you do not want to switch your current mode of learning, then you do not have to do anything. Your child will remain in their current learning model for the remainder of the school year.

Thank you for your ongoing patience as we finalize this last opportunity for elementary students to transfer modes of learning. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school principal. I encourage you to continue to follow our www.dcdsb.ca/returntolearning web page for the latest information.

Yours in Faith,
